Hello Lincoln Families,

We look forward to the Student-Led Conferences this week! Just a reminder your child will need to be at the conference. The students present their goals and accomplishments so far this year at the conference! Our 4th graders have worked diligently on setting individual goals in reading, writing, Lexia, math, and more! Thank you in advance for your participation! 

Laps for Lincoln is Friday, October 14th from 5-7. As usual, it will be AMAZING! Students and teachers received our Laps t-shirts on Thursday from our PTO!   We are so thankful for all of the support that is given during this event. Please remember that this is Lincoln's one fundraiser for the year. Thank you for your participation!

Reading:  Reading assessments are almost done! Using the data from the Fountas & Pinnell reading assessments, NWEA, and conferring conferences, I am working on what reading strategies and goals each student needs. These strategies are intended to be added to their "reading tool kit".  Over the next four weeks, I will read Winn Dixie, by Kate DiCamillo as an interactive read-aloud. These mini-lessons will focus on many reading strategies. It's possible to use more than one reading strategy at a time. These strategies cover comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and expanding vocabulary. Students will be presenting their reading goals at their student-led conferences. 

Writing: We will be focusing on sentence structure and brainstorming strategies. Then I will write begin lessons on teaching how to write personal narratives.

Math: Unit 2:  Students generate and reason about equivalent fractions and compare and order fractions with the following denominators: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 100.

Snacks in the Classroom

Please make sure that everyday snacks are quick and easy for your child to handle. For example please no yogurt, pudding, uncut fruit, or messy items for everyday snacks. This avoids spilling on our school devices, furniture, etc. These snacks work better in the lunchroom. Thank you for your understanding. 

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays! For students who would like to celebrate their birthdays in our class please bring in non-food items for example instead of cupcakes maybe pencils. Sometimes parents put together little gift bags. These are just ideas. There is no obligation to send anything!

8:10 Drop-Off Begins: Students can go to the playground or enter the building for breakfast

Supervision will be available on the playground.

8:23 Bell Rings for students to begin to enter the building.

8:25 Bell Rings: Teachers should be outside their

doors to monitor the hallway and greet students as they enter the room

8:30 Tardy Bell Rings

3:50 Dismissal


Late start days are just one hour later for all morning procedures.

Half-day dismissal is at 12:09 p.m.


Shuttle riders should head outside at 3:30 on full days and 11:55 on half days.

  Hello Lincoln Families! This last week was about celebrating the success of each student’s individual learning goals, especially in the areas of math, reading, and writing! Our class began their 4th-grade journey by setting their individual learning goals and communicating them at their student-led conferences. Since then, they all have been working by practicing at school, and at home. It seemed only fitting that we celebrate with the movie, Because of Winn Dixie and a Read-In! It was a fabulous way to recognize the hard work of all of our students. Hello Lincoln Families, Our class earned an "extra recess"! We had 100% participation in the Student-Led Conferences!  The students want to bring in bikes, skateboards, or sporting equipment. The weather is supposed to be amazing this week. Let's plan on Wednesday, April 12th. We also don't have a late start on this day. If your child wants to bring in a bike that's great. Skateboards can be brought up to the classroom and stored there. Keep in mind if you require them to wear helmets, pads, or any protective equipment that will be up to you. If you could make sure the equipment is here first thing in the morning, that would be great. They are very excited! Sarett Field Trip: We will be going to Sarett Nature Center on Thursday, April 27th from 10:30-12:00. We will have a snack at school before we go and return for lunch.
