  Hello Lincoln Families, March is Reading Month! To celebrate we are going to have a Read-In this coming Friday, March 3rd! Students can bring a snack, a clear drink, and of course their favorite books from home.  Student-Led conferences went really well! Thank you for all the support and teamwork to help continue your child's growth. Without the home-school connection, all of the students' successes would not be possible.  It's been a fantastic second trimester of learning! Thank you for all you do. Important Dates Late Starts:  3/1, 3/8, 3/15 March Reading Month Begins! Class Read-In:  3/3  (1/2 day) Spring Break: 3/17-3/26 School Resumes: 3/27 Academic Agenda Reading :  We have concluded summary strategy lessons called, Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then for fiction and the 20-word gist for non-fiction. We will begin learning about text structures which include time order, compare and contrast, & cause and effect in a text.  Using the data from the Fountas & Pinnel

  Kindness Party: Our Kindness party was a huge success! Thank you for all the donations and the committee for organizing the party items and game! Spring Conferences: Spring conferences are on an as-needed basis. I have emailed all parents, notifying them either way! My conference schedule doesn’t begin until the week of February 20th. All students are finished with their student-led conference slides and goals! If your child is not coming into the classroom for their conference, p lease schedule a time to conference with your child at home. Let me know if your child needs the Chromebook for the conference and also when the conference is complete. It's so exciting to see all the progress these kids are making as a product of their hard work. They are recognizing the importance of goals! Music: Recorder information went home this week.   Kindness Party: Our class Valentine's Day Party will be on 2/14 at 2:00. Students are allowed to bring valentine cards, but they need to bring them for all 26 students. If your child wants to make or bring a box or container to put them in, that is fine. Here is a  list  of class names. Please don't send any candy attached to the cards, as some kids cannot eat that candy. Our Kindness committee will send in snack items. However, if you want to send in a special treat, that is fine.
